2021

In 2021, the new engineering major Intelligent Construction was approved, and a tutor system was implemented as a pilot for undergraduate programs. The doctoral program in civil engineering established second-level disciplines in intelligent construction and urban safety, and the master's program established second-level disciplines in intelligent construction. The mechanics first-level academic doctoral program established a second-level discipline in intelligent mechanics. The master's program in hydraulic engineering established a second-level discipline in smart water conservancy. The course Engineering Structural Seismic Design was included in the 14th Five-Year Plan for national textbooks by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The school was approved for 19 National Natural Science Foundation projects, ranking second in the university. Professors Jin Juliang and Wang Jingfeng received first prizes in the science and technology progress awards from Anhui and Fujian provinces, respectively. Professor Yin Yonggao led the approval of the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission for the Anhui Province Cement-based Material Low-carbon Technology Engineering Research Center, establishing seven research institutes.

2020

In 2020, the undergraduate majors in the college were classified as civil engineering, and the undergraduate program in civil engineering (smart construction) was introduced. The major in civil engineering passed the national certification for the fifth consecutive time, obtaining a six-year validation.

2017

In 2017, the discipline of mechanics was approved as a doctoral degree granting point, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development awarded the first batch of National Assembly Building Industrialization Base to the school.

2013

In 2013, the major of water conservancy and hydropower engineering was selected as a provincial comprehensive reform pilot program. Professor Liu Bingkang's course Structural Engineering Seismic Design was approved as a national-level quality resource sharing course.

2008

In 2008, the school established the undergraduate program in surveying engineering and gained approval for the key provincial discipline of geotechnical engineering.

2007

In 2007, to meet the needs of discipline development, the school renamed the college the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering and obtained the approval of the provincial-level engineering technology research center for disaster prevention and reduction in civil engineering.

2002

In 2002, the undergraduate program in civil engineering passed the national evaluation by the Ministry of Construction, obtaining a five-year validation.

1998

In 1998, the Master's degree program in municipal engineering was approved. To cultivate high-level talents in hydropower across the century, the school resumed the undergraduate enrollment in hydropower.

1991

In 1991, the student party branch of the Civil (Hydraulic) Engineering Department was awarded the title of Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in the Province.

1989

In 1989, students from Konstanz Industrial College in the Federal Republic of Germany studied in the Department of Civil Engineering, guided by Professors Jin Zhijie, Xu Chuanhua, Wan Haiying, and Zhan Binggen. This marked the first time the university admitted foreign exchange students.

1986

In 1986, the Department of Civil Engineering established the Institute of Architectural Design. The Department of Civil Engineering offered programs in industrial and civil architecture and architecture.

1952

 In 1952, the Federal Republic of Germany's Konstanz Industrial College sent two students to study in the Department of Civil Engineering, with joint guidance from Professors Jin Zhijie, Xu Chuanhua, Wan Haiying, and Zhan Binggen.

1951

In April 1951, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Huainan Coal Mining Industrial Technical School, introducing majors in coalfield geology, surveying, shaft engineering, coal mining, coal washing, mining machinery, and electromechanical engineering.

In 1947, it became Anhui Provincial Industrial Technical School and relocated to Huainan, Anhui, offering programs in civil engineering, machinery, and electrical engineering.
