On the morning of June 30, the College of Civil Engineering held the 2026 International Student Internship Launch Ceremony at Weidi Building. The event aimed to strengthen university–industry collaboration, enhance international engineering education, and provide international students with valuable engineering practice opportunities.

Representatives from China Railway 11th Bureau Group Third Engineering (East China Construction) Co., Ltd., China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and Anhui Construction Engineering Road & Port Group Port and Waterway Co., Ltd, together with officials from the International Affairs Office, College leaders, faculty members, and international students attended the ceremony. The event was chaired by Gao Peng, Vice Dean of the College.

Hu Mengjie, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, highlighted the importance of international student education to the University's internationalization strategy and encouraged students to integrate theory with practice while serving as ambassadors of friendship between China and the world.

Professor Wang Jingfeng, Dean of the College, introduced the College's strengths in civil engineering education and emphasized the importance of engineering practice, university–industry collaboration, and internship safety. He encouraged students to gain first-hand experience of China's engineering achievements and contribute to future international cooperation.

Enterprise representatives expressed their commitment to providing high-quality internship placements and professional guidance throughout the program.Speaking on behalf of all international students, Azimul, a junior Civil Engineering student from Bangladesh, thanked the University and participating companies for the opportunity. He pledged that all interns would actively engage in practical learning, learn from industry mentors, and continuously improve their engineering competence.Participants also exchanged views on internship management, joint talent cultivation, and industry–university–research collaboration.

This year's internship program is supported by China Railway 11th Bureau Group Third Engineering (East China Construction) Co., Ltd., China Construction Eighth Bureau First Construction Co., Ltd., Anhui Construction Engineering Road & Port Group Port and Waterway Co., Ltd, and HFUT Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd.

The program marks another step forward in the College's efforts to cultivate internationally competent engineering professionals and support the Belt and Road Initiative through international cooperation in engineering education.
