Recently, the 2025 edition of the "World's Top 2% Scientists" list was jointly released by Stanford University and Elsevier, the world-renowned academic publishing house.

The list is divided into two major categories: the "Career-long Impact" rankings and the "Single-year Impact" rankings. From nearly 7 million scientists globally, the top 2% are selected based on comprehensive parameters—including total citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, and citations to papers as a single or first author. The rankings cover 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. While the "Career-long Impact" ranking evaluates the overall performance of a scientist throughout their professional career, the "Single-year Impact" ranking focuses specifically on academic influence within the previous year.

9 scholars from the College of Civil Engineering at Hefei University of Technology were selected for the list, including Professor HE Wei, Professor WANG Jingfeng, Professor WANG Changjian, Professor WANG Zhiliang, Professor XIANG Nailiang, Professor WANG Yixian, Professor ZHAO Chunfeng, Professor MENG Zeng, and Associate Professor ZHONG Jian.
