On January 30, 2026, Elsevier officially released the 2025 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. A total of 6,309 scholars from 540 universities, enterprises, and research institutions were included, covering 10 disciplinary fields and 83 first-level disciplines designated by the Ministry of Education. This list serves as a key metric for measuring the academic influence of institutions.

A total of 18 scholars from Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) were selected, while 145 scholars nationwide were recognized in the field of Civil Engineering. Professor HE Wei from the College of Civil Engineering has been consistently included in this list since 2021 and remains the only scholar in Anhui Province to be selected within the discipline of Civil Engineering.

Professor HE Wei is a recipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University (Ministry of Education), a Marie Curie Fellow of the European Union, an Academic and Technical Leader of Anhui Province, and a Leading Talent of the "Thousand Talents Program" for high-end innovative talents in Qinghai Province. He has long been engaged in research on high-efficiency renewable energy utilization in buildings, as well as resilient absorption technologies and strategies.

He also holds several prominent positions, including member of the Thermal Utilization Specialist Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society, standing member of the Solar Energy Utilization Specialist Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, member of the Photovoltaic Building Specialist Committee of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, and member of the Building Simulation Specialist Committee of the China Simulation Federation. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Technical Committee of the Engineering Research Center of Public Safety and Emergency Management (Ministry of Education), vice chairman and secretary-general of the Anhui Artificial Environment and Low-Carbon Energy Society, chairman of the Anhui Professional Committee for Green Building Operation and Energy-Saving Renovation, and standing director of the Anhui Energy Research Association.
